Fly High Free Bird is an idiom of “Doing It“ (title of art) which is an adage of being and feeling freedom.
Layers of wax were applied and hot letters were individually stamped/burned into the wax. An accretion (building up the encaustic wax with thin layers of wax paint ) technique was applied creating space between the letters. This space was filled with more wax. The wax was then scraped back using a razor blade to reveal the subtle affirmation.
